Make Worthy Connections at IME South 2024

You can’t do it alone. No one can. That’s why you need a strong network of peers, mentors, and supporters.

A great way to build your network is at in-person events, where you can meet new people, ask questions of subject-matter experts, and hear helpful ideas.

One such opportunity is at the upcoming IME South 2024, scheduled for June 4-6 at the Charlotte Convention Center in North Carolina. This 6-in-1 expo includes SouthPack, MD&M South, Plastec South, Powder & Bulk Solids (PBS) South, ATX South, and D&M South (Design & Manufacturing).

In addition to more than 300 exhibitors and 40+ free educational presentations, IME South has planned exciting opportunities to commune with our engineering and design community.

Women in Processing Speed-Networking Event

When: Thursday, May 16 (prior to IME South), 4:00 p.m. Eastern time
Where: Online

Women in Processing is a new networking group dedicated to supporting and empowering women in the powder and bulk solids processing industry. It is supported by Informa’s media brand Powder & Bulk Solids and the IME South co-located show PBS South.

Networking Lounge

When: Tuesday, June 4 – Thursday, June 6, 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (3:00 p.m. on Thursday)
Where: Booth 1026

Throughout the event, recharge yourself and/or your electronic devices. Meet with colleagues, customers, or collaborators in this open space. The counters (with stools) will be powered with outlets to charge phones and laptops.

And while you’re there, check out the new Moments of Manufacturing Excellence display located in the Networking Lounge. You’re sure to run into kindred spirits there, which might spark a conversation. This display is done in partnership with NC State University Industry Expansion Solutions.

Welcome Reception at the NASCAR Hall of Fame

When: Tuesday, June 4, 4:30 – 7:30 p.m.
Where: Charlotte Convention Center

IME South invites you to join us for the most-awaited Welcome Reception at the NASCAR Hall of Fame, located in the Charlotte Convention Center. Enjoy more than 50 interactive experiences with your peers — and get behind the wheel of an iRacing simulator or see if you have what it takes to make the team in our Pit Crew Challenge. Tickets are available for purchase when you register. Or you can add them to your registration at the registration counter in Concourse A when you check in, and at the reception itself via a quick-response (QR) code that will be on signage there.

Master Class Networking Breakfast

When: Tuesday, June 4, and Wednesday, June 5, 8:00 - 9:00 a.m.
Where: Room E217

If you’ve registered for the paid MedTech Master Class Conference, you are invited to the networking breakfast on Tuesday and Wednesday. This is an opportunity to grab some coffee and a light breakfast pastry before going into the first session. The speakers will be there to network during breakfast as well.

MDM MasterMind Trivia

When: Wednesday, June 5, and Thursday, June 6, 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (noon)

Calling all medical device manufacturers. Test your knowledge with MD&M South’s trivia challenge, hosted by Challenge Entertainment. Trivia champs win prizes valued up to $100.

American Red Cross Blood Drive

When: Wednesday, June 5, 11:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Where: Booth 1136

Did you know hospitals and other healthcare facilities always need blood? IME South is making it easy for you to donate. The American Red Cross will be set up to collect blood on the expo floor. Workforce Development Reception

When: Wednesday, June 5, 3:00 p.m.
Where: Advanced Manufacturing Theater (Booth 1534)

The Workforce Development Reception takes place immediately after the 2:15 – 3:00 p.m. panel discussion “Pathways to Success: Navigating Careers and Advancing in Manufacturing” hosted by Industry 4.0 at the Advanced Manufacturing Theater in Booth 1534. Panelists include experts from Women in Manufacturing, Society of Women Engineers - Charlotte Metrolina Chapter, and the National Society of Black Engineers - Charlotte Chapter.

Get some face time with the experts while enjoying free hors d’oeuvres. A bar will be selling drinks.

Additionally, a local photographer from Doug Burke Photography will be set up to take free headshots. A professional headshot can help you look your best on social media.
